Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Electrical & Electronics engineering deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism. Electrical engineering has subdivided into a wide range of subfields including electronics, digital computers, computer engineering, power engineering, control systems, robotics, signal processing, instrumentation, and microelectronics.

Practicing engineers may have professional certification and be members of a professional body. Such bodies include the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) etc

This branch provides students with a wide range of fundamental knowledge in core disciplines such as Electronic Circuits & Design, control systems, signal processing, radio frequency design, micro-processors, micro-electronics, power generation and electrical machines. The discipline focuses on design and manufacture of electrical, electronic systems, computers and their component parts, as well as on the integration of components into complex systems.

Electrical engineering graduates can work as Design Engineer, Project Engineer, Engineering Specialist, Chief Engineer, Quality Control Engineer, Software Engineer, Development Engineer, Reliability Engineer, Research Engineer, Systems Design Engineer, Field Engineer, Sales Engineer etc in various industries like Electrical Power Generation and Distribution, Communication, IT, Microelectronics, Aerospace, Robotics etc
